This screen saver for Thanksgiving was created using three tools:
1. Paint Shop Pro (any image editing program would do)
2. Optimpal animator for Screen Saver Studio (This was only to save the number of segments needed)
3. The stock graphics from the internet source www.screensaverstudio.com
And of course, Screen Saver Studio.
The Steps:
1. After making a story board of the screen saver, the graphics were assembled. I used the Optimpal add-on to create the animations, but could have used the frame duration command to make the flip book effect for the animations.
2. I then simply added the graphics, in order, using screen saver studio. Sound was added to offer effect.
Timing is Everything:
This screen saver uses frame based animation throughout its design. Therefore, timing is quite important. Through a balance of three commands, the timing was achieved. These commands are:
* Duration of Segment
* Defining the Graphic (running is faster than walking)
* Update Rate of Segment (causing the segment itself to run faster)
Through using a combination of these effects, you can easily time your screen saver to suit your needs.
